✨Un cadeau de mariage signé Warhol et Haring

La scène artistique new-yorkaise des années 1980 se singularise par l'énergie collective qui en émane. Le travail de Keith Haring est central dans l’articulation entre les différents artistes ayant collaboré avec Basquiat comme Warhol.

L’œuvre “Untitled (Madonna, I’m not ashamed)”, offerte à Madonna en guise de cadeau de mariage, atteste de la collaboration entre Andy Warhol et Keith Haring.

Peu de temps avant l'évènement, des photos d’elle nue, prises quelques années auparavant sont publiées, et son indifférence face à cette situation est alors relayée partout dans la presse.

Cette une de journal reprise par Warhol et Haring est une façon d’interroger le pouvoir de la presse dans la société américaine et de se jouer de celle-ci.

🇬🇧 A wedding present by Warhol and Haring

The New York art scene of the 1980s was characterised by its collective energy. Keith Haring's work is central to the articulation between the different artists, having collaborated with Basquiat as well as Warhol.

The work "Untitled (Madonna, I'm not ashamed)", a collaboration between Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, was given to Madonna as a wedding present.

Shortly before the event, nude photos of her taken a few years earlier were published, and her indifference to the situation was reported all over the press.

The front page of the newspaper, taken up by Warhol and Haring, is a way of questioning the power of the press in American society and playing with it.
