Auditorium programme - 2018 - 2019

Outstanding performers, upcoming talent and education

Further events will be added during the season.

At the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the famous building designed by Frank Gehry, the Auditorium plays host to a wide variety of live arts events, particularly musical performance. The space is dedicated to creative encounters between musicians and artists of all disciplines.

With a capacity ranging from 350 seated places to 1,000 standing places, depending on the configuration, the Auditorium offers artists and the public a unique setting, thanks to its breathtaking architecture and quality equipment. The Fondation has invited musicians and artists to take part in a new season of performances that reflect the diversity and vitality of the world of music.

Once again, the outstanding performers of our time will give high-profile concerts on the Paris music scene, from recitals to chamber music. Alongside these internationally renowned artists, the Fondation Louis Vuitton has also invited upcoming and remarkable pianists for its “New-Generation Piano” series, which will be popular with audiences and enable these emerging musicians to demonstrate their exceptional virtuosity.

Education remains central to programming for the Auditorium. Following the huge success of the four previous seasons, the Cello Class of Excellence masterclasses, led by Gautier Capuçon, combined with performances given by the six chosen winners, will once again be held every month, attended by the public at the Fondation Louis Vuitton. For this new season, the Fondation has commissioned Krzysztof Penderecki to compose a piece for seven cellos. The world premiere will take place during the closing concert on 30 June 2019.

For a second season, the Fondation Louis Vuitton is widening its musical brief to include jazz as a key part of its programme.
