Extension of The “Jean-Michel Basquiat” Exhibition

Thanks to the generosity of the lenders and in response to the event’s popularity among the public, the Fondation Louis Vuitton is today announcing that its exhibition “Jean-Michel Basquiat” will be extended for a further week, until Monday 21 January 2019.

The “Egon Schiele” exhibition will not be extended due to issues relating to the conservation and fragility of the works.

For the final week of the Basquiat exhibition, the Fondation Louis Vuitton will open every day, for longer: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday 15 to Monday 21 January. Free coffee will be available to visitors every morning between 8 and 9.30 a.m.

On the final day of the exhibition, Monday 21 January 2019, there will be a concert by the Ensemble Intercontemporain in the Auditorium of the Foundation at 8.30 p.m. The conductor and composer Matthias Pintscher, along with Bryce Dessner and the soloists of the Ensemble, will perform a new programme inspired by the life and work of Jean-Michel Basquiat. They will open with the world premiere of a piece by Pintscher, commissioned by the Fondation and inspired by Basquiat’s personality.
